Meet Jeff
I’m a writer, storyteller and foodie who’s always curious about what people eat, where dishes come from and why food can inspire such wonderfully strong opinions.
I started CountryCuisines to help curious eaters discover what’s being cooked around the world, from familiar favorites to regional dishes they may never have tried. Along the way, I dig into the ingredients, traditions and history behind the food, ask plenty of questions and look for reliable recipes and stories worth sharing. Because there’s always another dish worth discovering.

CountryCuisines has a small unofficial test kitchen of sorts: family and friends who love food, travel, cooking and telling me exactly what they think. They suggest dishes, remember favorites from their travels, share family recipes and food discoveries, spot things I’ve missed and occasionally start arguments about what absolutely does – or does not – belong in a dish.
I listen. I take notes. Sometimes we even agree. Good food has always been something people share, and CountryCuisines is always better for having a few extra voices around the table.

Do you feature regional dishes?
Absolutely. Some of the most interesting food traditions are regional rather than national, and we try to say where a dish comes from instead of simply attaching a country flag to it.
